This week, from 22 to 26 January 2020, is being held at the FITUR Madrid Fair, the great international tourism event organized by IFEMA and, as every year, Aránzazu Hoteles has come to this inescapable event. He has been to Stand 9C of Pavilion 9 of the Basque Country Tourism.
This year marks the 40th Anniversary of the Fair. Sustainability, technology and specialization have remained the main axes of FITUR, to which the momentum of actions aimed at growing in professionalism, representativeness and internationality has been added and, therefore, to overcome the results obtained in the last edition, which brought together more than 11,000 exhibiting companies from 160 countries, and 253,000 participants.
This week we have been present in the 2 days organized within the Plan of Actions of International Tourism Promotion scheduled for this Autumn 2019 by Bilbao Bizkaia be basque in collaboration with the OETs of Zurich and Munich.
These cities have been chosen for their excellent air connection to Bilbao. Specifically, on October 22nd in Zurich and October 24th in Munich.
In these days, a presentation of the Basque destination will be held to the invited professional agents, followed by a Workshop with the main Basque tourist companies. Aránzazu Hotels will show tourist agents the functionality of the Abando Hotel and the luxury of the Hotel Carlton in Bilbao.
Each event ends with a Cocktail with the main ingredients of Basque gastronomy.
Aránzazu Hoteles participated this week in a Day of Promotion and Marketing of Bilbao Bizkaia in Dublin, in collaboration with the Spanish Tourist Office in Dublin.
The event was divided into two parts, first, there was an official destination presentation for all attendees and subsequently a workshop was held for tour operators and tour agents of the city and surroundings.
The direct route from Bilbao to Dublin with the company Aer Lingus makes the connection between the two cities two hours.
The closing of the event was accompanied by a cocktail dinner with the best gastronomic products of our land.
Carlton Hotel´s Terrace opens the doors to its clients. This space located on the first floor, has a spacious dining room and lounge terrace. Located in the Centre of Bilbao, this Terrace overlooks to the Plaza Moyúa. Inside Haro’s holidays in honor to San Juan, San Felices and San Pedro. This declared holiday of Tourist National Interest, is celebrated in Bilibio’s Crags, close to San Felices’s Hermitage of Haro. This historical litigation centres on a territorial conflict for the possession of the zone of Bilibio’s crags between the locality burgalesa of Elevated place of Ebro and the inhabitant of La Rioja of Haro.
To support his domain, the neighbors of Haro must come every June 29 day of San Pedro, to Bilibio’s crags, where the Alderman Syndic of the villa will place the standard of the city, as a sign of possession. If it was not like that, the neighbors would lose the domain and it would go on to Miranda’s jurisdiction of Ebro.
The pre-selection of the 9th Art Exhibition in the Carlton Hotel with artwork from the Fine Arts faculty of UPV
On June 11, 2019, the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of the Basque Country proceeded to pre-select the artwork that will compete in the 9th Art Exhibition in the Carlton Hotel – UPV / EHU Art Contest. The pre-selection was run by two professors from that faculty, Mr. Joseba Euskubi and Ms. Genoveva Linaza. This year the contest curator is Jenni Alavarado.
Out of a total of 47 works presented, the teachers have selected for the 34 for the event, which will be exhibited at the Carlton Hotel from August 17th to September 1st, 2019.
The decision of the Jury will be public and will take place on September 12th at 1:00 PM at the Carlton Hotel in Bilbao.
The entrance to the exhibition of the contest is free of charge.
Yesterday morning at the Abando Hotel, the 49th Bilbao Book Fair was presented.
At the press conference held, the writer and poet Luís García Montero was awarded the Pluma de Plata Award for his writing.
This book fair will stand out, in comparison to previous years, because there will be more women writes, especially young women. More books will be presented in Basque, promoting reading in Basque, booksellers and local writers.
Activities will be held, exhibitions and meetings for writers and their readers. The book fair will consist of 55 stands, and will open on May 30th at 12:00 p.m., and will end on June 9th. The schedule everyday will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
One more year, Aránzazu Hotels will participate in the IMEX Fair in Frankfurt that will take place on May 20th, 21st and 22nd. Meeting leader in Europe for the main MICE tourism companies, this year the fair will have more than 3,500 exhibitors.
Aránzazu Hoteles will be sharing booth with the spanish companies (E300), mainly with the Convention Bureaus of San Sebastián and Bilbao.
The Hotel Carlton of Bilbao together with the faculty of Fine arts of the University of the Basque Country / Euskal Herriko Unibertsitatea, organizes ” the IXth Contest of Art Hotel Carlton 2019 ” in the Bilbao´s Feast.
The works will be exposed during Take hold Nagusia of Bilbao 2019, from 15/08/2019 up to 01/09/2019, both inclusive, in the lobby of the Hotel Carlton of Bilbao.
All the exposed works are unpublished and original, with a technology, size, format and topic to the free choice of the artist.
The failure of the Juror, possessing the representatives’ presence of the UPV, of the Hotel Carlton and of the cultural area, will announce september 12th of at 13:30 h.
On April 23, on the occasion of the celebration of the Day of the Book, a reading of Don Quixote was made in the lobby of the Hotel Abando, in which the Mayor of Bilbao participated among others.
More than fifty people gathered to read the book uninterrupted throughout the day.
